Adventure experiences in natural environments have been proven by extensive studies to have positive transformative effects on our relationship with ourselves, others and the environment.

We advocate a respect for nature approach rather then a dominate nature approach. We believe that adventure sports lead us on a journey of self-discovery and personal development.

At Active Earth we promote responsible adventure tourism and favour low emission travel wherever possible. We plan our trips and expeditions in a responsible and thoughtful manner to ensure mutually beneficial interaction with the local communities we visit.

HUMANITY

The club actively supports a number of humanity projects around the world. We have a special relationship with Mercy Corps through programs that we actively support.

The club favours projects which bring genuine long term benefits to local communities and host countries.

The club offers adventure travel and expeditions around the causes we support.

The club also proposes a series of self-development adventure opportunities, such as mountaineering training and expeditions. The natural world provides massive learning opportunities for those who are receptive.

We believe that there is a strong natural link between experiencing ourselves as part of the ecology of life and a sense of spiritual development.

ENVIRONMENT

At Active Earth we wish to help our members appreciate and understand what amazing natural capital we have inherited and how we all totally depend upon it.

The club is totally committed to raising awareness for important environmental issues.

We believe that bio-diversity and cultural diversity are crucial for our happiness and survival.

The club brings together some gifted individuals who are happy to share their passion and appreciation for natural environments with other members through the club’s activities.

The club supports environmental projects that aim to repair or limit damage done to ecosystems, for the benefit of the local communities which depend on them.

We are working with the World Wide Fund for Nature and other charities such as Mercy Corps on real projects that are solving real problems. Visiting and participating in these projects is an amazing opportunity for our members.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change is a worrying reality and adventure travel is a small but fast growing proportion of total greenhouse gas emissions.

We favour low-emission travel wherever possible

We support the introduction of intelligent emissions controls and environmental taxes.

We believe that traveling has a key role to play in creating a just and sustainable world and as such needs to find its correct place in an emissions-controlled world.
